Christmas parties and family gatherings are only a few weeks away. New gifts, toys, clothes, and more are going to be on their way to your home soon. Tip #1: Snowball Effect
Make a snowball! It is the holiday season after all. This is our number 1 tip as you begin to declutter areas of your home. Start small and work your way up to the bigger areas. (Just like rolling a snowball!) Often times the hardest part is just getting started. Tackle a small closet, or a single cabinet first. You'll be surprised how much momentum this creates to tackle the rest of the home. Because lets face it - decluttering feels good!
Tip #2: Make a List!
This one is as simple as it sounds. Overwhelm and stress typically come from failing to make a decision. If you feel overwhelmed with all the preparation you need to do to get your home ready for the holidays. Grab a piece of paper and a pen. Write down everything you need to do. Start with the quickest/smallest task (See tip #1) This tip takes the "thinking" of what to do next off your plate and simply lets you go down your list.
Tip #3: Don't forget about the Toys
I never thought I would be one of the parents that have toys all over the house. With my little dude being 18 months now, I realize how wrong I was. Toys everywhere! With the holiday season coming up, I imagine there is going to be a new round of toys coming into the home. So, Tip #3 is to purge the toys before the new ones arrive!
